Manners Luncheon

A Special Experience Just for Leal Elementary 5th Grade Students

An Affair to remember

Beyond academics, Leal Elementary’s 5th grade students are taught formal dining etiquette and manners as part of their social growth curriculum.  Our 5th grade teachers will teach our students how to interact with servers, social cues, and how to use dining wares.  On the day of the event, students will be asked to dress in formal wear (whatever your family deems appropriate) for this private, in-class lunch.

It’s a great enrichment experience for our kiddos and because it’s an enrichment experience - beyond academics, this event will be fully supported and funded by the 5th grade families.  We are asking for each 5th grade family to contribute $12 per student to help pay for all the food, serving wares, and decorations.

If we all pitch in, we can really make this a memorable event our kids as they transition into

The Menu

We have selected a local vendor, Cafe Corleone, to provide a 3-course meal for our exclusive Manners Luncheon. We will start the meal with a salad followed by the main course, a meat-less spaghetti dinner with garlic bread. A dessert will complete the third course - TBD currently. Refreshments, most likely apple cider, will be served in champagne flukes.

We are currently working with all four 5th grade teachers to identify dietary restrictions and food allergies so we can provide alternative meals.

We Need Your Help

With your help, we are looking to raise $1,440 total to cover the cost for all 120 5th grade students: $12/student x 120 students. Of the $12 needed for each student, $7 will be spent on the meal, and $5 will be spent to purchase drinks, napkins, dishes, and classroom decorations (for all four classes). Please use the Venmo link to make your contribution.

In addition, we will put the call out for parent-volunteers to help in each of the four classrooms on Thursday, December 15, 2022. We will need your help to decorate the classroom, help serve the food, and cleanup - approximately 3 hours between 11:00 AM - 1:42 PM.
